Good evening everyone!
Bismilllahhirohmannirohhim..
As usual, the six of us met up for
the forth meeting at the same place as we met during week 3, Dewan Kolegiat,
Kolej Kelima, UPM (Friday, 3pm-5pm) as planned last week. This time, we
discussed about the movie that we have watched two last week, PETER PAN (Comedy). We all
agreed that this movie is a very interesting movie, rate 8 out of 10.
Basically, we discuss about our
feelings, main idea of the movie and which character and part of
the movie that we adore. Right after that, we completed the guide questions
together.
The forth meeting was a success after
all as we manage to answer all the guide questions during the discussion. We enjoyed
ourselves during the discussion. Everyone became closer than ever. Before we
dismissed, our leader Silvan had decided that our next meeting for WEEK 5 (25

During the movie (PETER PAN - Comedy)
1. Who are the 5 most important characters in the film? List out the names of the actors playing them.
2. What is the story about?
In stifling Edwardian London, Wendy Darling (Wood) is a
pre-teen girl who still shares a room with her two younger brothers, John and
Michael. Each night she loves to thrill them with bedtime stories about
swashbuckling pirates and tales of swordplay. This disturbs her Aunt Millicent
(Redgrave) who believes it’s time for Wendy to grow up and squelch her girlish
desire to become a novelist. She informs Wendy's parents (Isaacs and Williams)
that Wendy needs her own room and for her to stop telling the boys stories.
Wendy’s father then carries out the order, telling her it’s time to move out of
the nursery. On her last night with her brothers, a mysterious boy flies into
the nursery and convinces Wendy and her brothers to return with him to
Neverland, where they'll never have to worry about growing up. The children fly
away with Peter Pan (Sumpter) and arrive at Neverland where Peter introduces
Wendy to a group of Lost Boys who eagerly adopt her as their “mother” and beg
for her to read them stories. Unbeknownst to Peter, his fairy friend Tinker
Bell (Sagnier), grows jealous of Wendy and the attention Peter gives her. His
old enemy Captain Hook (Isaacs) and his crew of mangy pirates conspire to
capture and kill Peter. When it would seem that all hope is lost, Peter saves
the day and Wendy and the boys return home with a few surprises for their
parents.
3. What group of people would like to watch this film?
Kids really love this kind of film because the genres are comedy and
adventure. The girls can get into the mermaids and the fairies. While the boys
can see the indians and fight pirates. It's like a dream come true. Plus it has
the best action when the crocodile, Captain Hook, and Mr. Smee are together.
After the movie (PETER PAN - Comedy)
1. Do you like this movie? Why or why not?
2. What rating would you give for this movie?
3. What spoilers would ruin this movie if you told your readers about it?
4. All movies teach a lesson (theme or moral). What did you learn from this movie?
Second, Peter taught us to always keep our word. In fact, in the final fight scene with Captain Hook, Peter is goaded into committing to fighting without flying, much to Wendy’s chagrin. In fact, when she encouraged Peter with “Fly, Peter! Fly!” Peter responded by saying, “No! I gave my word!” If all of us kept our word, no matter what, much like Peter did, things might look a little better everywhere. Always keep your word.
Third, have fun. Everything Peter did was about having fun. There are certainly times for seriousness, but wow, we often take that perspective much too far, much too often. Maybe we should follow a little more of Peter Pan’s mentality in life and lighten up a bit, and enjoy the ride. Have fun.
Last, he taught us to love our mother. After all, Peter risked a lot to have a mother for him and the Lost Boys. And in the end, despite the fact that he chose not to grow up, he did not begrudge Wendy and her brothers or the Lost Boys from going home to be with their mother. Because he knew how much it mattered to them. Love your mom. And dad, too!
5. What title would you give for your review?
The title that we should give our review is Peter Pan beautifully explores the bittersweet truths of life.
