Good evening everyone! Bismilllahhirohmannirohhim..

As usual, the six of us met up for the forth meeting at the same place as we met during week 3, Dewan Kolegiat, Kolej Kelima, UPM (Friday, 3pm-5pm) as planned last week. This time, we discussed about the movie that we have watched two last week, PETER PAN (Comedy). We all agreed that this movie is a very interesting movie, rate 8 out of 10.
Basically, we discuss about our feelings, main idea of the movie and which character and part of the movie that we adore. Right after that, we completed the guide questions together.
The forth meeting was a success after all as we manage to answer all the guide questions during the discussion. We enjoyed ourselves during the discussion. Everyone became closer than ever. Before we dismissed, our leader Silvan had decided that our next meeting for WEEK 5 (25 October, Friday) will be held at Putra Food Court @ 4pm-6pm.

During the movie  (PETER PAN - Comedy)

1.     Who are the 5 most important characters in the film? List out the names of the actors playing them.

2. What is the story about?
      In stifling Edwardian London, Wendy Darling (Wood) is a pre-teen girl who still shares a room with her two younger brothers, John and Michael. Each night she loves to thrill them with bedtime stories about swashbuckling pirates and tales of swordplay. This disturbs her Aunt Millicent (Redgrave) who believes it’s time for Wendy to grow up and squelch her girlish desire to become a novelist. She informs Wendy's parents (Isaacs and Williams) that Wendy needs her own room and for her to stop telling the boys stories. Wendy’s father then carries out the order, telling her it’s time to move out of the nursery. On her last night with her brothers, a mysterious boy flies into the nursery and convinces Wendy and her brothers to return with him to Neverland, where they'll never have to worry about growing up. The children fly away with Peter Pan (Sumpter) and arrive at Neverland where Peter introduces Wendy to a group of Lost Boys who eagerly adopt her as their “mother” and beg for her to read them stories. Unbeknownst to Peter, his fairy friend Tinker Bell (Sagnier), grows jealous of Wendy and the attention Peter gives her. His old enemy Captain Hook (Isaacs) and his crew of mangy pirates conspire to capture and kill Peter. When it would seem that all hope is lost, Peter saves the day and Wendy and the boys return home with a few surprises for their parents.

3.     What group of people would like to watch this film?


Kids really love this kind of film because the genres are comedy and adventure. The girls can get into the mermaids and the fairies. While the boys can see the indians and fight pirates. It's like a dream come true. Plus it has the best action when the crocodile, Captain Hook, and Mr. Smee are together. 


After the movie (PETER PAN - Comedy)

1.       Do you like this movie? Why or why not?

      Yes, I do like this movie a lot. Because, it helps us to broaden our imagination scope as we follow with their adventures. It gives us moral values with good lessons and it is suitable for everyone.

2.       What rating would you give for this movie?

      I would love to give a five out of five (5/5) rating to this movie.

3.       What spoilers would ruin this movie if you told your readers about it?

      The spoiler that would ruin this movie would be that at the end of this story Wendy Darling and Peter Pan did not get together, instead Peter Pan sent her back to her house in the end.

4.       All movies teach a lesson (theme or moral). What did you learn from this movie?

      First, Peter said that in order to fly you need to think happy thoughts. The Bible fully supports this in Philippians 4:8, “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things.” This scripture doesn’t reference flying, as we would define it, but we could make the argument that flying is a great metaphor for our overall success in life. So, think happy thoughts.

Second, Peter taught us to always keep our word. In fact, in the final fight scene with Captain Hook, Peter is goaded into committing to fighting without flying, much to Wendy’s chagrin. In fact, when she encouraged Peter with “Fly, Peter! Fly!” Peter responded by saying, “No! I gave my word!” If all of us kept our word, no matter what, much like Peter did, things might look a little better everywhere. Always keep your word.

Third, have fun. Everything Peter did was about having fun. There are certainly times for seriousness, but wow, we often take that perspective much too far, much too often. Maybe we should follow a little more of Peter Pan’s mentality in life and lighten up a bit, and enjoy the ride. Have fun.

Last, he taught us to love our mother. After all, Peter risked a lot to have a mother for him and the Lost Boys. And in the end, despite the fact that he chose not to grow up, he did not begrudge Wendy and her brothers or the Lost Boys from going home to be with their mother. Because he knew how much it mattered to them. Love your mom. And dad, too!


5.       What title would you give for your review?
      
     The title that we should give our review is Peter Pan beautifully explores the bittersweet truths of life.

Six of us gathered for the third meeting at Dewan Kolegiat, Kolej Kelima, UPM (Friday, 3pm-5pm). We discussed about the movie that we have watched last week, UP (Drama). We discuss about our feelings, main idea of the movie and which character we like. After that, we completed the guide questions together.
We enjoyed ourselves during the discussion. Everyone was very supportive; we shared different ideas and opinions about the movie UP. The next meeting, which is week 4 (18 October 2013) will be held at the same venue and time (Dewan Kolegiat, Kolej Kelima, UPM @ Friday, 3pm-5pm) as well. We dismissed at exactly 5pm.

During the movie (UP - Drama)

2. What is the story about?

78-year-old balloon salesman Carl Fredricksen is pushed beyond his limit when builders force him to move out of his own home, where he and his late wife had built their lives. Determined to live out a lifelong dream and show everyone that he won't be living in an old folks' home, Carl ties thousands of balloons to his house and lifts off toward Paradise Falls, South America.
Just as the thrill of his successful sianara is sinking in, Carl realise something horrifying: he has a stowaway -- an 8-year-old Wilderness Explorer named Russell. Carl is unable to get the talkative and persistent whippersnapper back to the ground, and the both of them end up in South America, with Paradise Falls finally in sight.
Along their trek toward the falls, Carl and Russell find a strange and very large bird, whom Russell dubs "Kevin," and a talking dog named Dug who is hunting the bird. Russell wants to keep them, but Carl does not want any extra tag-a-longs. When a pack of mean dogs sent by Dug's master show up to get the bird, Carl's trip takes a whole new turn.
As it turns out, the dogs belong to Charles Muntz, the adventurous explorer who inspired Carl and Ellie's dreams of Paradise Falls. He is in search of the mysterious Kevin bird, and will stop at nothing to capture it. Despite his desire to stay out of this big mess, Carl finds himself right in the middle of it. At 78 years old, he is about to finally realise what life and adventure are all about.


3.     What group of people would like to watch this film?

Up the film is a film that all the family will definitely enjoy. It is a comical animation that includes a young hyperactive boy and an old grumpy man. It is also very suitable for kids between ages 5 to 14, as they can found it so funny and they can learn many lessons from the movie itself.


After the movie (UP - Drama)

1.       Do you like this movie? Why or why not?

     Do I like this movie? Yes, but not just simply like this movie but I do love this movie. It is such an obvious question if you ask others their feeling towards this movie because I'm sure that everyone would give the same answer like me. I do like this movie because it had had a very interesting story plot which mean it had a good base and climax and the most important thing is it ended with a happy ending. Other than that, the graphic of this movie is beautiful as it is a 3D computer animated film.

2.       What rating would you give for this movie?
     
     5 star out of 5.


3.       What spoilers would ruin this movie if you told your readers about it?

At one part of the movie when everyone is sitting around a fire, carl has agrees to protect Kevin. But at one point of the movie, when Muntz begins to set fire to Carl’s house which is now only a few feet away from the ground. Carl is distraught, and forgetting Kevin’s plight entirely, he tries to extinguish the flames consuming his home. Meanwhile, Muntz has successfully captured Kevin, brings him on board his blimp and flies away.


4.       All movies teach a lesson (theme or moral). What did you learn from this movie?

The first lesson is to appreciate and enjoy every second of our life. Carl have been working so hard to fulfill his wife's dream of going on an adventure to Paradise Falls but instead, when he got there he realized that the greatest adventure for her was just being together with him. He missed out on a lot of great moments in his life in search for perfection.


This movie also taught us about sacrifice. Muntz eventually catches up with them and starts a fire beneath Carl's house, forcing Carl to choose between saving it or Kevin. Carl rushes to put out the fire, allowing Muntz to take the bird. Carl and Russell eventually reach the falls, but Russell is angry with Carl over his decision to abandon Kevin. He goes to find Russell, only to see him sailing off on some balloons to save Kevin. Carl empties the house of furniture and possessions, lightening it, and pursues him.


Third, Family comes first. Watching the movie, it is clear that Russell's parents are not involved in his life. He tried very hard to impress his father by getting all the Willderness Explorer's badges but his father never cared and that makes him sad.

The title that we would give for this review is A Journey Through The Skies
